Welcome to the Backbeach Software Medical Record (C-CDA) Viewer Application. This application has been developed to extend the functionality of the online C-CDA Viewer.

Medical Record Viewer - Help Manual

Personal privacy and security: The Viewer is a standalone application that allows you to view personal medical records on a desktop without uploading files to a server.

Multiple document loading: You can load all the files in a directory, or a single file at a time. Each file is loaded in a tab and retained in the Viewer until closed, allowing you to switch between files.

Structure and Validation reporting of a batch or single document: As files are loaded, they are checked for structural or validation errors. On loading a directory, a report detailing each file is presented, including error messages.

Patient feedback collection: You can add feedback to a C-CDA document. The feedback may be a note which is added to the C-CDA structure, retaining date and authorship information.

• The original file is not altered - a new document is created when notes are added.
• The new document is the next version, with links to the original document.
• Links between versions of a document are indicated by color coding.
• Changes are timestamped and patient authorship is added.

Review functionality: A review process can be recorded within the document, recording who has reviewed the sections in a document.

Quality assurance checking: The machine readable version of the document can be viewed and easily comparison to the narrative text.

• You can view the XML of a section or entry within the Viewer. The XML hierarchy and certain of the attributes can be hidden/shown, allowing the data of the record to be examined and compared to the narrative text.

Document details including author are immediately accessible.

Provenance and authorship assessment: Where a section or entry author differs to the document author, the additional author is listed, highlighting these differences to readers.

Visual indicators of Section linking: Links between document sections are indicated with an icon. Clicking the icon will highlight the linked section. For example, a Health concern may link to a Goal.

Access Logging: All access to files is logged, recording file, document detail, user and date of access.

System Requirements:

Download and run the installer. The Viewer is a Windows application, tested on Windows 7 and Windows 10.

Bug fixes:

• Ordering sections on drag and drop will now update the TOC as it is occurring. Previously this was only updated after a reload.
• Hidden sections warning icon is now updated correctly in real time. Previously, the warning icon was not removed after that last hidden section was made visible.

Easy-to-use viewer of complex C-CDA documents, available directly in any web browser. A responsive document layout automatically adjusts to make optimum use of the available screen space. Users can hide, collapse and move any section of a CDA document.

Document sections can be manipulated directly via button clicks, drag and drop or via a document Table Of Contents

All user preferences are saved and automatically applied to subsequent CDA documents opened

Ability to detect and hide/show duplicates

The result is an intuitive and easy to use document layout that users can control directly. All this using simple deployment via a local fileset or web server (and it's very pretty).
